To present and promote the medical services and expertise of India, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) has organized an international summit on “Medical Value Travel”. Ten Health Ministers from multiple nations attended, along with other dignities from ten countries and 470+ international business delegates from government, private hospitals, and medical healthcare assistance companies participated.
The event was also graced by Health Ministers of 7 countries (Bangladesh, Maldives, Somalia, Armenia, Bhutan, Nigeria and Egypt), along with Health Ministers from different states of India, Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim.
Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi highlighted India’s strength in holistic healthcare, stating that “we have talent, technology, track record and tradition. He underlined that “when it comes to talent, the world has seen the impact of Indian doctors.”
He also touched upon Ayurveda which is a complete discipline of wellness and said that it takes care of the physical and mental aspects of health. “The world is looking for solutions to stress and lifestyle diseases. India’s traditional healthcare systems hold a lot of answers”, he emphasized.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated ‘One Earth, One Health: Advantage Healthcare India 2023’ International Summit virtually, a G20 co-branded event, addressing all the Health Ministers and international delegates from across the globe. Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), organized the 6th edition of Advantage Healthcare India 2023 with the Indian G20 Presidency, and the event took place on April 26-27, 2023 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, India.
The two-day event aimed to highlight India as the New Hub of Medical Value Travel and how it has emerged as a major hub for world-class healthcare and wellness services, as well as its significance in medical potential, as well as to create and explore opportunities for healthcare collaborations between the participating countries.
The conference featured more than 200 exhibitors and 500+ hosted international participants from 70+ African, Middle Eastern, CIS, and SAARC nations. Reverse Buyer Seller Meetings and scheduled B2B meetings with hosted delegates from more than 70 designated countries in the region of Africa, the Middle East, the Commonwealth of Independent States, SAARC, and ASEAN will bring together and connect Indian healthcare providers and foreign participants on one forum.
The delegates from foreign countries like Bangladesh, Armenia, Bhutan, Egypt, Ghana, Indonesia, Germany, Maldives, Rwanda, Nigeria, Russia and Somalia, Oman, Tanzania, Tunisia, Vietnam, Thailand, Zambia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Cameroon and many more participated in the summit.
In recent years, India has developed as a cost-effective destination for world-class healthcare and wellness services, pushing the country into becoming a major hub for Medical Value Travel. The summit highlighted India’s importance in terms of medical potential and gave opportunities for the attending countries to collaborate on healthcare. The visiting foreign government health representatives also visited both public and privately owned hospitals in Delhi.
AHCI also had panel discussions with eminent speakers and experts from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Ministry of AYUSH, industry fora, startups, etc., along with interactive sessions with the stakeholders.
