Brief About Dr. Gautam Mukhopadhyay
Dr. Gautam Mukhopadhyay is a highly experienced Surgical Oncologist based in Kolkata, India. With over 25 years of expertise in the field of surgical oncology, he has established himself as a leading figure in eastern India. Currently, he leads the Bengal Oncology Centre and has also founded the Bengal Oncology Foundation, which aims to raise awareness about cancer in society.
Dr. Mukhopadhyay completed his MBBS degree in 1986 from Medical College Bengal, West Bengal, and went on to pursue his MS degree in 1991 from the University of Mumbai. He further enhanced his skills through a certified residency training and teaching experience as part of the M.Ch course at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai in 1988. During this period, he successfully performed over 10,000 cancer surgeries.
In recognition of his exceptional contributions, Dr. Mukhopadhyay was honored with the ‘Bishishta Chikitsha Samman’ award in 2019 by the Chief Minister of West Bengal. He specializes in various areas of surgical oncology, including general/colorectal & GI Onco/ENT Head & Neck/Uro/Gynaecology/Thoracic onco surgeries.
Dr. Mukhopadhyay remains actively engaged in his profession and stays updated with the latest advancements by participating in numerous national and international conferences, particularly in the past decade. His expertise is highly sought after, and he has been invited as a visiting faculty to various prestigious conferences both nationally and internationally.
