With over 40 years of practice, he has gained expertise in various procedures including Peripheral Angioplasty, Balloon Mitral Valvuloplasty, intra-arterial thrombolysis, Pacemaker Implantation, Mitral/Heart Valve Replacement, and Organ transplantation.
Dr. Vijay has an impressive record of performing more than 10,000 open-heart surgeries and has been recognized by Medtronic Inc. USA for successfully completing 5000 open-heart surgeries. He holds the distinction of being the first surgeon in India to perform Stentless Bioprosthetic Valve Replacement Surgery for aortic valve disease.
